Jamsrangiin Sambuu

Jamsrangiin Sambuu (Mongolian: Жамсрангийн Самбуу) was the chairman of the presidium of the Mongolian People's Republic People's Great Khural from 1954 to 1972. He was effectively president of Mongolia.

Sambuu was born in what is now Büren sum of Töv aimag in 1895. He served as minister for agriculture and finance minister. In 1945 he published a well-known book, Advice to Herdsmen. He was a prominent diplomat and Mongolian ambassador to the Soviet Union during World War II. He won the Lenin Peace Prize in 1965.

Sambuu died on 20 May 1972 at the age of 77.
